Introducing Rotech Systems
New Programmable Encoder
The PRE 4000 programmable encoder from Rotech Systems provides accurate shaft speed and position monitoring for demanding industrial applications. It uses a magnetic sensing principle to deliver high resistance to shock and vibration. As a result, it performs reliably in harsh industrial environments.
Rotech Systems manufactures the PRE 4000 from tough 30% glass fibre reinforced polypropylene. This robust housing protects the encoder while keeping the design practical and versatile. In addition, the encoder offers a freely programmable resolution from 1 to 16,384 pulses per revolution. This allows you to configure the encoder to match the requirements of each application.
The PRE 4000 operates from 8–30 VDC (5V when being programmed). It also provides a 6-channel quadrature complementary output. Therefore, it can integrate easily with a wide range of control, monitoring and automation systems.

Importantly, you can reprogram the PRE 4000 at any time. Rotech Systems’ custom software makes programming quick and straightforward. The PRE-Modem programming lead connects the encoder to the software and allows you to change its settings as your application develops. Consequently, you can adapt the encoder without replacing the unit.
The RPM Tachometer provides a clear digital display of rotational speed (RPM), enabling fast and accurate monitoring of rotating equipment.
The tachometer also features convenient reference formulas for calculating encoder frequency from RPM and pulse-per-revolution (PPR) values, as well as peripheral speed from pulley diameter and rotational speed.

Installation remains simple. The PRE 4000 requires just one 12 mm threaded hole in the end of the shaft being monitored. This reduces installation time and avoids unnecessary modifications to the equipment.
Overall, the PRE 4000 combines robust construction with flexible programming and straightforward installation. It provides a versatile solution for shaft monitoring, automation, condition monitoring and equipment upgrades.
